Llewellyn’s Story

Llewellyn Penfold, born 12/07/2009

Llewellyn was born 14 weeks early at 26 weeks, weighing just 3lb 2oz and spent a total of 8 weeks in hospital.

He was born with 3 small holes in his heart (2 of which have now closed) and 2 small brain haemorrhages. He was also suffering from excess fluid in his legs and feet, vomiting reflux and lung problems and needed 5 blood transfusions.

When he came home he needed oxygen to help him breathe and initially did really well, until a month later he suddenly stopped breathing. After this he needed resuscitation at home several times.

During this traumatic time Kylie found Bliss’ publications invaluable and used the messageboard to connect with other parents going through the same thing.
